Founder/Consultant

Desi has been active in the Vancouver Island design community for well over 20 years. If you have been in a building in Nanaimo, there is a good chance he was involved with its design, including essential aspects like HVAC design and fire protection systems. Desi has a reputation that has made him the go-to designer in Nanaimo. Contractors, developers, and government agencies know they can depend on Desi to implement effective mechanical engineering solutions that get the job done quickly and efficiently, ultimately saving them money and time. Desi has developed a truly integral design approach for the entire community.

Engineer & Designer

 With over 35 years of experience, Dan is a seasoned expert in the design and construction of diverse mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, geothermal, and fire protection for healthcare, hospitality, and large-scale residential sectors. His technical proficiency extends to building condition assessments, energy analysis, and commissioning, complemented by his specialized role as an Expert Witness in construction disputes. A proven leader in scaling business practices, Dan has successfully established M&E departments at two leading firms and managed complex, multi-disciplinary projects with a strict adherence to regulatory standards and building codes. Furthermore, his background in business development and industry programs, such as solar equipment manufacturing initiatives, provides him with deep insight into Canadian industry practices and alternative energy technologies, allowing him to navigate economic shifts with precision and strategic depth. 

Fire Protection

Matthew developed his specialized skillset under the direct tutelage of Desi. His expertise spans all aspects of the NFPA and BC fire code, making him a valuable resource for fire protection systems. With years of actual field experience, Matthew is a key contact for fire suppression and sprinkler systems on Vancouver Island, and his knowledge also complements HVAC design and mechanical engineering.
